model for YOU to follow his steps closely
Imagine a war-torn area. Here is a huge minefield in front of you, with buried mines and booby traps. You must walk through this area to get to safety. Frightened and uncertain. But wait! There are large footprints all the way through the minefield, the steps of someone who made it to safety. If you carefully place your feet within the borders of these footprints, you will make it, too. This minefield is full of bombs. Some we can see, disguised as attractive toys laid there just out of reach, put there purposely to tempt us to leave the safe footprints. If we do, and pick up the "toy," BAM! It will explode, leaving us maimed or killed. We must ignore these temptations, stay focused, placing our feet carefully!
Satan's world is a minefield, and he is the expert at hiding bombs and creating deadly "toys." But Jesus, our Exemplar, walked this war-torn world successfully. We can too, if we place our feet safely within his prints. Just a few more steps. Let nothing distract us. Keep focused on Paradise up ahead. See it? We are almost there!
